In recent years in France, as a result of public debate, a reform of family justice has been carried out. The most important changes concerned the improvement of the operation of family courts and the protection of the weakest (women and minors) in this process. Dr. Szymon Bachrynowski characterized the family court system in France, which he contrasted with practice. He defined the features of good conduct in family matters and courts in France. It also highlights the practices used to ensure good and fair judgments, which at the same time guarantee respect for delicate and intimate matters, such as family matters.
As the author emphasizes, „Family justice in France reflects the values and traditions of French society, which place great emphasis on protecting children’s rights and maintaining family stability.” The best interests of the child are paramount, and courts make decisions in such a way as to protect the interests and well-being of the child, even at the expense of other parties to the proceedings.
