Fighting crimes against children is extremely difficult and requires the involvement of many entities and people. Their scale is constantly growing, especially due to the rapid development of information technology.
In this expert opinion, the author presents the project „Project Safe Childhood”, which was launched in 2006 by the US Department of Justice in response to the growing epidemic of psychological violence and physical sexual abuse of children. Its purpose is to marshal resources at the federal, state and local levels to help locate, prosecute and apprehend individuals who commit the above crimes.
According to the author, „Project Safe Childhood has also proven to be very effective in apprehending and convicting offenders who traveled or attempted to travel across interstate or foreign borders with the intent to sexually exploit a minor or engage in other illegal conduct.”
